
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942, and died September 3, 2019, was an American actress best recognized for her roles in Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and mother of a New England mother. When she began her career as an actress, she went on to become an infant model. She was nominated for the Theatre World Award for "one of the most promising stars 1956-1957" for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley started her film career in the year 1958 with The Light in the Forest, a Disney film The Light in the Forest, then followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). In her movie The Light in the Forest Lynley received a nomination in 1959 for the Golden Globe Award. In the following year she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Female Newcomer for the movie Blue Denim.
